EV Concept ” Honda CX500 ” by Fabian Brees

It isn’t the first time that we are talking about Fabian. In March 2019, Fabian came up with an exciting design called Pelikan.

In recent designs, we are seeing many designers adopted the “Biomimicry. “It is something that imitates systems, models, and other components of nature like animals, birds. Yamaha has used in there latest “TRI TOWN” concept.

We see Ducati’s Electric concept Zero . The snake inspires it. Created by three students Bart Heijt, Fernando Pastre, and Raquel Villani designed the electric concept called “Zero,” which is a collaborative project with Ducati.

Based in Belgium, Fabian is a passionate industrial designer with a keen interest in things that move.

Pelikan

The Pelikan inspires it.The fact that the bodywork could expand -like a pelican’s beak- to hold extra battery range motivated the name choice, and also they’re fun animals. That made Fabian give the name of this bicycle as Pelikan.

The sentiment drives to create a unique bicycle with a sculpted body somewhere between motorcycle and cycle, instead of hiding all electronic elements.

Fabian wanted to use the battery and the motor as visual centerpieces for the bike.

Fabian says, “When he began sketching, his vision was to design the iPod of eBikes: A large block with minimal design features and a bright color palette.

It didn’t work the way I intended, and I got bored with it fast”.

When we asked Fabian about his latest work. Let’s see what he has to say.

“It is just a never-ending-spare-time project. I was playing with the idea of creating my café racer from a bike that I could afford.

It’s still a work in progress, and everything is subject to change.

But it’s getting there! I hope to build it in real life this year. Just have to convince my girlfriend ;).”

LivingWithGravity’s Take

Although the new cafe racer concept is still in progress, however, the design in matt grey looks sleek, stunning, clean, and piece of art.

Two batteries protruding from two different sides do remind us of a massive BMW boxer engine.

Front and rear also look stylish with all the LEDs that will come through. We are sure that by this time, Fabian has convinced his girlfriend.

However, now, we would also like Honda to get convinced.
